Utah Loves Cupcakes

i love utah. i love cupcakes.

Cupcake History Infographic

Many a day do I hear phrases like:
- “I am so surprised people like cupcakes.”
- “Who started this cupcake trend, anyway?”
- “Cupcakes are dead.”

…and of course many more.

I am continually surprised that so many people think cupcakes are just a trend, when in fact cupcakes have been around for such a long time.

I honestly believe that if a bakery or cupcakery has a wonderful, quality product, their cupcakes and their shops will continue to be open and serve many sweet-toothed customers.

Check out this infographic about the history of cupcakes. It dates back to 1796. Pretty cool. And it has some very interesting facts about the cupcake business. Here in Utah I continue to see lots of growth–most significantly in established cupcake shops opening up second and third locations.

Enjoy!

Cupcake Punch Cards: Are you motivated?

Cupcake punch card from Cupcake Chic (Orem, Utah)

A handful of Utah cupcakeries and cupcake bakeries offer the classic punch card. You know, “Buy 12, Get the 13th Free” and such. So let me ask you: Are you motivated by these type of incentives? Do you like them?

I for one love them. I’m {obviously} a frequenter of cupcake bakeries and enjoy a sweet reward for my loyalty. Chime in. I am very interested in your thoughts.
