Caramel Apple Cupcake from Mini’s Cupcakes in SLC
I love this shot of Mini’s caramel apple cupcake and a retro McCall’s magazine. It totally speaks to the style of Leslie Fiet’s awesome Retro Cafe. And the cupcake? Amazing!

3 Cupcake Thangs to do this weekend in Utah!
Looking for something to do this weekend? I’ve got 3 great cupcake-related activites to do! Some involve fashion, some involve consuming cupcakes and another is something to do at home! But hey, why not do all?
1) Buy a purple cupcake for a great cause at Cutsie Cakes, So Cupcake or Diva’s Cupcakes & Coffee. Friday and Saturday.

Today and tomorrow the Cocoa Diva is sprinkled with purple sprinkles and the Raspberry Vanilla has purple frosting.
2) Buy a Sprinkles cupcakes mix from Williams-Sonoma, make cupcakes at home!
– I think these mixes are great. I’ve tried all but one and have nothing but good to say about them. As much as I’m all about baking from scratch…sometimes it’s just convenient and fun to try a mix. Plus it makes me feel that much closer to Sprinkles!
5) Buy a cupcake T-shirt from The Cocoa Bean Cupcake Café…and obviously eat one of their cupcakes and heck, get a drink too! I own this “Don’t call me muffin” shirt in blue and I love it! I get comments about it all the time.

Have a great weekend! Eat a cupcake!
Green & Pink Four-leaf Clover Cupcakes
Adorable green and pink four-leaf clover cupcakes by DisneyChick. These were for a little girl’s first birthday party. I think they would be equally cute for St. Patty’s next year!
Fudge Frosting Vote 2010 at The Chocolate Dessert Cafe
When it comes to cupcakes most devote enthusiasts are very serious about their frosting. I could honestly carry a conversation about cupcake frosting for well over an hour. I’d get into texture, ingredients, extracts, techniques…and don’t get me started on cupcake to frosting ratios!
For those just as nerdy as I am…you can head on over to The Chocolate Dessert Café now until 7 pm (or until supplies last) to cast your vote on which new fudge frosting they should use!

Draponians get ready to be addicted…
People of Draper consider this an official warning.
You will be addicted. You will visit often and you will crave.
Today marks, what I believe, to be a soft opening day at The Sweet Tooth Fairy Draper location. (Grand opening is March 27))
The location is perfect, right next to In ‘n Out. Burgers and cupcakes… that’s how I’ll roll when I hit the new digs up.
I’m hoping to go super super soon..and believe you me, I’ll give you the full report. Maybe a video too?
So a few suggestions for all you new comers to The Sweet Tooth Fairy
Suggestion #1: Get a cake bite. (Double Fudge is my favorite!) I know, I know…this blog is all
about cupcakes. Do you think I care? I can’t make a trip to The Sweet Tooth Fairy without purchasing at least two 5-packs of these puppies. They are quite possibly one of the best treats I’ve ever tasted. In fact, the reason why I get two packs is because I can no longer share with my husband. It’s the truth. Reality bites… Cake bites that is!
The Sweet Tooth Fairy sells cake bites in lots of flavors, but if it’s your first time trying them go for the Double Fudge. It’s the most popular and was featured on the Rachael Ray show. I also am a fan of the pumpkin cake and red velvet cake bites.
If you don’t buy a cake bite. I don’t think we can be friends. Really.
Suggestion #2: Get more than one flavor of cupcake. Why? Because it’s fun people. You don’t go to a bake shop to skimp out. If they have the Cheesecake Cupcake available. GET IT! This is my favorite cupcake they offer.
They’ve got tons of cupcake that are offered daily at The Sweet Tooth Fairy. Want to make sure they have your favorite flavor? Just call ahead, check their facebook page or twitter account. They are friendly people!
Other flavors I suggest trying are their signature VaNIElla that has crazy cool frosting that has hits of almond, coconut and vanilla in one shot. Seriously don’t know how they do it and I don’t want to get mad about the fact that I can’t figure it out…so I’ll stop thinking and writing about it now.
I also recommend any of the new cupcake mashups. Read my full-on review with pretty pictures for more details. Strawberry cheesecake is off the wall!
Suggestion #3: Go with a friend and have fun. Soak in all the details of the bake shop. I personally have no clue what this location looks like yet. (so don’t get made if they don’t have some of these things) But I’m sure it’s close to the adorable Provo store. Browse the cupcake and baking paraphernalia…you may end up with cupcake liners, glovables, an apron or a T-shirt (like I just bought!). Browse the Sweet Tooth Fairy’s cakebooks, look at their menu, take pictures and have fun.

Juicy Couture Cupcake Earrings
While I was chilling in Beverly Hills and eating Sprinkles cupcakes last month. I picked up these cupcake earrings.
yes…they were found in the kids section of Juicy Couture. When I was asking some questions about them the sales girl said, “How old is the person they are for?” I said proudly “Oh? They are for me!” Seriously…this is a reoccurring thing for me. Don’t most people realize that a twenty-something can love cupcakes? Ignorance I tell you…ignorance.
OH, they also have a cupcake necklace, cupcake bracelet and cupcake hair band.
And, while we are talking about Juicy Couture.
Enjoy these adorable Juicy Couture cupcakes made by Kara of Kara’s Cupcakes and Kara’s Party Ideas.
Cupcake Sizes – Take your pick!
You never have to wonder how much bigger a jumbo cupcake is than a regular size, thanks to Jen owner of Sweeten Your Day!
I seriously don’t know if I could handle the tall size. The frosting proportion is just not enough!
I’d probably stick to the regular or mini. …thus continues my dislike of giant cupcakes. Don’t get me wrong, they are cool. I just can’t eat them all.

Cookies and Cream Cupcake from The Chocolate Dessert Cafe in Orem
I tried The Chocolate Dessert Cafe’s Cookies and Cream cupcake today (in mini form). I loved it!
This is the perfect midweek, mid-day snack! A mini (they call them baby cakes) cupcake from The Chocolate Dessert Cafe in Orem, Utah.
The cake was ultra moist today with their delicious chocolate flavor. Take a look at the top of the cupcake…and the ridge as I call it. It creates the coolest toothsome texture!
The frosting is ridiculously good! So comforting and smooth. Reminds me of a cookies and cream ice cream milk shake (from the BYU Creamery) but lighter!
To top it all off? A chocolate cookie crumb. Brings an extra crunch that creates balance between all the different textures going on in this mini cupcake.
price is awesome too! $1!
by the way peeps. it’s Wednesday, which means it’s LADIES NIGHT at The Chocolate.
Have you tried this cupcake? How did you like it?

The Tahiti Cupcake from Les Madeleines
Les Madeleines recently had a cupcake that stuck out to me. It was their Tahiti Cupcake.
Tahiti: Vanilla cupcake with passion fruit buttercream
Romina, the owner, says all her desserts are travel inspired. And having been to Tahiti, this cupcake actually brought me a little bit back.. The frosting was really unique and impressive. Light and buttery (like all her frosting..very much buttery!) but it was so fresh with the taste of passion fruit! The vanilla cupcake was the perfect pair, too!
And now I leave you with some pictures from my Tahitian cruise I took last year:
Cupcake Schedules
I appreciate cupcake schedules more than any bakery owner will ever know!

Back from a cupcakation vacation! (CA Part 1)
All! I’m back from an awesome trip to California! (I’m sure you noticed the lack of posts. Sorry, I’m not always at the top of my game)
I was finally able to try the beloved Sprinkles! I also had a chance to try a two other cupcakeries and just enjoy my time at the beach, do some shopping and have some major girl time with a great friend.
I can’t wait to tell you more about my experiences. I will say, Sprinkles did not disappoint! I loved it! And…the biggest take back from my trip. I’ll tell you right now.
Utah cupcakes can definitely hold their own!
Golf Cupcakes
I’d love to make golf cupcakes for my Dad on his birthday or Father’s Day!
Look how fun these golf cupcakes are by Cravings-Alisha’s Cupcakes from Pleasant Grove, Utah. I’ve had the chance to taste her cupcakes before…and I liked them. If I recall correctly, I loved her black and white.
