Guest Post: The Stationery Place

editor’s note: Lyndsey (aka Paper Girl) is one of my favorite IRL bloggie buds. We met in college and some might say we rocked the PR world. She has spent the last few years in LA PR-ing it up and is now back in Utah. Lyndsey is nothing less than geniune, fun, spunky, creative and very in-tune with life! I am happy to have her guest posting today and happy to have her part of the utah cupcake scene!

hello, utah loves cupcakes readers!

i was so excited when becky asked me to guest post on ULC. i have loooong been a cupcake lover, and now i’m trying to be a utah lover too as i just moved to utah valley from los angeles in july. so far this beautiful state has opened me with welcome arms [and a few visits to the sweet tooth fairy haven't hurt, either].

my speciality is paper products, as you might notice from my blog the stationery place. for my guest post, i thought i’d highlight a few adorable stationery products that are perfect for all you cupcake fiends out there. they’re almost cute enough to eat!

i’m a total letterpress fan, so if you’re looking for a cute card to buy for someone i highly recommend snow & graham. check out this adorable letterpressed birthday card available from luxe paperie:

if you’re a diy-type person, check out this adorable cupcake hole punch from paper source [my FAVE paper supply store...sadly you'll have to mail-order as they don't have any brick-and-mortar stores in utah]:

paper source even gives a great, simple tutorial for making this cupcake card on their blog:

i’ve also tried my hand at a few cupcake-themed cards of late — you can pick up this card, along with a few of my other designs, at the coffee pod in provo. they sell cupcake chic cupcakes there too — as you may remember from a past ULC post.

this one is super easy to imitate. i picked some pink paper, cut it in the shape of a frosting blob and stuck it to my flat white cardstock with double-sided tape.

next i used embroidery thread to create the cupcake liner — poke holes in the cardstock first so you know where you’re aiming.

then i added the “thanks cupcake” tag and glued the cardstock cover onto a pink folded card. voila! my own cupcake card, perfect to send to that thoughtful friend who brought you cupcakes last week from their fave utah bakery…

feel free to check out my blog anytime for new paper projects and info on the latest designers and paper companies. and enjoy your cupcakes!

  1. Awwwww… these cards are so cute. My two favorite things – stationery and cupcakes. They make such a cute couple, hahaha. Lyndsey always has the best stationery finds!
