Photo Tour: The Chocolate Cupcake Cart!
Going shopping this weekend? I am! I’m off to get a new phone {woot woot}! The Chocolate Dessert Cafe just opened up their cupcake cart in Orem’s University Mall a few weeks ago. I don’t know about you, but I’m so excited to hit up Nordies and a bakery in one stop!
Let’s take a closer look at The Chocolate’s Cupcake Cart!
wow…the gap is right by! how convenient!
Hum…what kind should we get? Let’s take a look at the menu:
the menu lists ten cupcake flavors. also check out the menu on their web site. oh, what to choose? sometimes i just try all? {is that bad}
can’t decide on just one? well you shouldn’t have to…The Chocolate already has an assorted flavor pack of 4 cupcakes packed up for you! gosh they are smart!
sometimes we go to the mall to buy a gift. and that can be hard. no fear: buy a cupcake with a candle that’s in it! all you need is a match!
oh you aren’t buying a cupcake for a birthday? don’t worry: you can buy a single or multiple pack for any occasion. The chocolate even has some different packaging for various tastes and…
you can choose a card that says “thank you”, “congrats!” or nothing at all cause The Chocolate knows that sometimes you have the perfect message in mind!
you can also pick out a pretty ribbon. …i’ve got my eye on the green gingham!
gosh, good things really do come in small packages! i think your special one will love your cupcake gift!
gosh, after putting so much thought into a cupcake for a friend. I think you’ll deserve one for yourself! These lovely cupcakes are flavored vanilla with lemon curd, chocolate and red velvet! Eat away.
you like your cupcakes cold? (i know there are people out there that do!) well no fret, they’ve got a cute little refrigerator!

You should know that The Chocolate takes custom orders. (In fact they’ve got a great catering business going on!) So you can just drop on by the cart and tell them what type of cake or cupcakes (or better…both) you want! You can pick your order up right at The Chocolate’s Cupcake Cart or they can deliver it to you anywhere in the Salt Lake and Utah County Area! WOW!

Meet the Artist/Breast Cancer Awareness @ Diva’s Cupcake & Coffee TONIGHT!
On the last Thursday of every month Diva’s Cupcakes and Coffee hosts a meet the artist night! How cool, right? Anyway tonight they are also helping the cause for Breast Cancer awareness and will be selling pink goodies, among them PINK FROSTED cupcakes.

I seriously wished I lived closer to Diva’s. The location is so rad, the owner is very cool and friendly and most importantly the cupcakes are great! Get the red velvet, lemon or orange chocolate if you go (and of course a pink frosted one)!

Babycakes Cupcakery at Primrose Retreat: Photo Tour
Have you been down to the Babycakes Cupcakery at Primrose Retreat in Spanish Fork Canyon? Yes? No? Either way, join me on a photo tour.
Primrose Retreat is a spa that also houses a bistro and obviously a cupcakery…they even have gelato now. The area that you’ll see is the bistro where you can eat your cupcakes.
Primrose often runs specials that include their services with a cupcake. And seriously, who wouldn’t love a pedi and a cupcake?

Cute little chalkboard signage displaying their Babycakes name…I’m sure my friends over at Cupcakes Take the Cake are going to get a laugh and possibly roll their eyes at yet another cupcake venture named “Babycakes!” Seriously this makes like the what? The trillionth cupcake place named Babycakes…
Nuff about the name. Let’s get into the goods. Here are some of the flavors they had the day I visited.
Pink Champagne – it’s a dang funky flavor. You’ll love it or hate it. (it’s imitation champagne flavor)

S’mores – they are goey goey.

Lemon Meringue Pie – I like this one!
Chocolate Mint
Buttercream. This is one of their top sellers, especially the pink frosted ones!
Cookies and Cream. I like this one, especially the first time I tried it!

Doris Day Cupcake at Mini’s Gourmet
Vanilla may be my favorite flavor of cupcake. But sometimes nothing beats a seasonal cupcake! I love cupcakeries that offer seasonal favorite. They often conjure memories a particular season and heck, they give us something to look forward to. Right now Mini’s is offering a DORIS DAY cupcake! Here’s what owner Leslie Fiet said on her site:
“Our new Seasonal Favorite is here! The “DORIS DAY,” it is a buttery sweet yellow cake filled with chocolate pudding (made from scratch) and topped with fresh sweet cream. I think this one is a hit and may stay as a permanent fixture to our offerings. I am also considering selling our chocolate pudding as well, it is amazing! Jell-o it is not….
I am experimenting with traditional cake favorites for a new 1930′s collection, when you come in ask what I baked that day.”

this is BY FAR one of the most creative ways I’ve seen cakes and cupcakes combined. BRAVO!
i think these are red velvet with cherry’s on top. I’m going to go out on a limb and say these were the same ones (or at least same kind) served at the wedding dinner for Utah’s beloved Kelsey Nixon. (which reminds me I need to post a great recipe for apple cupcakes she developed!)

Breaking Cupcake News! – The Chocolate Cupcake Cart at University Mall!
The Chocolate Dessert Cafe is opening up a Cupcake Cart at the Orem University Mall just outside Nordstrom.
The Cupcake Cart official opens next Tuesday, April 21!
Stop on by while you’re shopping and grab a cupcake! I love that Utah now has a cupcake cart!
The Chocolate Dessert Cafe will also be opening another cart at Fashion Place mall towards the end of May. I’ll give you more details about flavors and prices soon. As for now I’m assuming it’s their current menu.
Mystery Cupcakes in Tremonton!
Flickr user jenelope1st just left a comment on the blog saying she recieved some cupcakes at a hotel in Tremonton. BUT she has no idea where they came from! How sad!
