SugarRush Cupcakes Closed!!!
I’ve been a little behind on my posts and I was browsing cupcake sites to see what was new….and I saw this on SugarRush’s Web site:

I guess Kathy is retiring.
I’ve got mixed feelings. I’m sad that I never got to try her yummy cupcakes….but I’m happy for her and her retirement! I hope someone can fill the void that Sandy and that part of the Salt Lake Valley will be in. I know several people who love her cupcakes.
Good Luck with everything in this new chapter of your life, Kathy! Thanks for all your cupcake goodness!
Spring Chick Cupcakes
Flickr user Windy_Sydney has done it again!
What a cute approach to spring chicks for cupcakes! I love these!

Silly Puppy Cupcakes
These adorable puppy cupcakes were made by Southern Utah’s ElleCupcake!
She used Wilton Candy Melts for the ears and M&M’s for the eyes and nose.
I’m especially in love with these because I am so puppy-hungry right now!

Cupcake T-shirts
So far, I think So Cupcake and Mini’s are the only cupcakeries/bakeries that have their own shirt. (Please, correct me if I am wrong)
I think it’s about time I start my collection…

Cinnamon Coffee Cake by The Sweet Tooth Fairy
I had a chance to try The Sweet Tooth Fairy’s Cinnamon Coffee Cake Cupcake. After one bite I was filled instantly with Nostalgia…it reminded me of Sunday morning coffee cake, churros from Disneyland and the comfort of cinnamon sugar. You must try this new flavor! It is an old family recipe that The Sweet Tooth Fairy’s family made during the holidays!

Blue Lemon Bistro Cupcakes
I finally had a chance to sneak on over to Blue Lemon Bistro to try their cupcakes.
Verdict? I like. And I think they are smart.
Why? Read on…
Because Blue Lemon’s frosting is very different than other cupcakes in Utah County and Utah as a whole.
See, they use swiss meringue buttercream
I tried all three flavors they had available (though there were more combinations of those flavors). my favorite was the raspberry lemonade cupcake and the chocolate frosting that came on the chocolate cake.
oh yeah. the food is great, too. best lettuce (besides pizzeria 712) i’ve had since living in nyc.

Utah Loves Cupcakes – St. Patrick’s Day Roundup!
Happy St. Patty’s Day!
The luck of the Irish has hit Utah’s cupcakes…so here we go!
Newcomer CutsieCakes starts us out with a kick. A little Guinness in the batter!
She’s offering two March specials: the Guinness Cake: a dark decadent chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting, resembling the frothy top of the famous pint.

The second is the Irish Cream: A moist yellow cake flavored with Bailey’s Irish Cream and topped with a dollop of sweet cream and slivered almonds.
Mini’s is featuring a few different kinds: Guinness cupcake with a dark chocolate and Guinness glaze, an Irish cream and coffee cupcake, it is a vanilla cake soaked in Irish cream, espresso, and whiskey with fresh whipped cream flavored with Irish cream dusted with coffee. We will also have some cute “out of gold” cupcakes for the kids.

Cupcake Chic has been making all sorts of St. Patty’s cupcakes. Above is a chocolate with mint buttercream I also tried the dark chocoalte with irish cream frosting yesterday at The Coffee Pod ..I want another one right NOW!
More from Cupcake Chic: chocolate with mocha frosting

Cravings pumped out these yummy green vanilla cupcakes with a green twist of buttercream frosting topped with a chocolate clover.

I love this tint of this green frosting by Cupcakes by Les. They are $2.50 each. Notice the cute cupcake candy on top of the first row…more on that later!

We’ve struck gold with these cupcakes made by the better half (you know I’m joking Nathan) of blogger Talkaholics Anonymous made these cupcakes. I’ve personally tried her cupcakes and they are so good! Thanks Krystal!

I think I could eat my weight in frosting over at the Primrose Retreat. Look how yummy and beautiful their cupcakes are and that gorgeou frosting…ahh!
The specialty flavor is Bailey’s and Cream. They are offering our Paddy’s Day six pack, six over stuffed cup cakes for $13.00.

Last but definately not least is Provo’s Sweet Tooth Fairy. This cupcake pictured above was a custom-made one but she’ll have an Irish Cream, Green Velvet and other fun green treats!
Hope you are wearing green and I hope you eat a cupcake today!
(If I left yours out email me and I’ll include it! Thanks!)
Cupcake Craze Comes to Utah – Daily Universe Article
Looks like BYU’s Daily Universe picked up on the goodness that is the cupcake! They included various cupcakeries and bakeries here in Utah! How fun to see it pop up on the front page with colorful pictures and all!

Note, though that cupcakes are available from St. George to Bountiful! (not just SLC)
We don’t want to forget our vegan friends over at Cakewalk Baking Company. Did I mention I used to write for this paper as a student?
A&E Desk, baby. Thanks DU!
No Cupcake Liners? No problem!
Carly’s of Carly’s Kitchen tried out Marlo Scott’s approach to cupcake liners…parchment paper. Head on over to Carly’s blog and read about her experience with parchment paper and snatch her new go-to vanilla cupcake recipe! It looks so good…and has buttermilk in it! YUM!
Now that’s a pretty frosting job!

Cuppie in Utah!!!
Our darling fun and spunky friend, Cuppie the Cupcake, has visited Utah. Yep that’s right the talented Jessie Oleson has painted Cuppie amidst Southern Utah’s arches! Here’s what she has to say in her cakespyshop about the original and adorable painting:
“Cakespy’s mission is to spread happiness and sweetness through the world through joyful little pastries. Why not add some sweetness to your life…or give a sweet gift to a loved one…by buying one of our original pen and ink / watercolor works? This painting is rendered on nice thick Bristol board and it comes framed in a 2.5 x 3.5 inch frame.
This time, Cuppie’s going on an adventure in Utah–checking out some of the gorgeous natural scenery!”
I don’t know about you guys, but I really need (not just want) to buy this! By the way, if you are not familiar with Cuppie the Cupcake and Jessie Oleson of Cakespy then you are missing out. Check out her blog and etsy shop NOW! {buy cuppie in Utah here}
